Hello again to all you Soulies out there,
Well Christmas is almost upon us once again and what a year it has been. Anyone who's ventured south of Watford over the last year or two will know that the London Soul Scene is booming; bringing in new punters and resurrecting some of the old faces. Country wide too, the scene is looking healthier and healthier and it's fair to say there is now a world of choice for the discerning weekend traveller.
It's been a good year for the Embankment Club, we've been lucky enough to showcase some of the countries top DJs including Butch, Mick Smith, Bob Hinsley, Robbo, Soul Sam, Derek Allen and Hammy. Anyone who was lucky enough to be present the night Butch and Mick headlined but unlucky enough to be at the back of the queue for the Bar - yes they have taken on more bar staff!! A big thankyou though to Nicola, the hero of the night, for jumping in to help.
The next Rare Soul Night at the Embankment Club is set to take place on Friday 7th December, guest DJs include, Carl Fortnum, Keith Woon and johnny Timlin.
As most of you know Carl is a well respected DJ with a magnificent across the board collection, Keith Woon and his good lady wife Maxine (promoters of "Uptown Down South") are two of the counties top collectors and certainly know their stuff. Last but not least we are proud to present Johnny Trimlin a purveyor on top tunes and promoter of "The Valatone" another top London night out which has been going from strength to strength over the last year.
Hope to see you all on the 7th December where we intend to start the Christmas season with a crackin' night of rare soul.
Cheers Lenny & Nina
